Johnny Most graduates from DeWitt Clinton High School, attends Brooklyn College, and begins his radio career in the U.S. Army. He serves as play-by-play announcer for New York Giants and Brooklyn Dodgers baseball teams, the New York Giants football team, and the New York Knicks before coming to Boston to become the “Voice of the Boston Celtics” in 1953.* The gravel-voiced Most broadcast from a booth he described as “high above courtside” for the next 37 years and retires on October 10, 1990. He dies in Hyannis on January 3, 1993.
